365 days and 6 hours

Is it Christmas already? Is it time for holidays and people singing Christmas carols? Well, that is the word up town.

Do you feel it?I am not such a religious person at all. I actually do not believe in god anyway. Instead i believe in something inside people that makes them better persons, happier and more involved in community life than in all the rest of the year. It is a sad fact that man kind needs a reason and a motivation for everything, but if this idea of "god" works, than why not ?

It is said that now is the time to turn around and analyze your setbacks, interpret ideas and reach some conclusions, because another calendar year has passed. Anyway, this idea with counting minutes and seconds is another social convenience, as the pattern for measuring time has changed over the history in many occasions. That is why the convention is to have a leap year every 4 years as a complete one measures 365 days and 6 hours, but that would be strange enough, so 6*4=24 hours, an entire day is added-29th of February.

So why are we so obedient when it comes down to counting seconds when we might as well set our own little timer? We are too much of a social being to do that. We need guidelines and boundaries in order to avoid chaos. But immediately i come and ask "is chaos different perceiving of time ?".

Maybe chaos is to not have holidays. It is unfortunate to need reasons to turn back to humanity, but in the end any awareness is better that none.

I came to your blog by accident and it was a nice accident! You have interesting ideas, although not all new but as you say, how can we say an idea is new?! I think there are no new ideas, there are only new human beings who have to discover these ideas by themselves over and over again. And maybe from time to time, somebody will come up with something new that will bring humanity a little bit closer to something better. Or quite simply apply the old recipes for better life that everybody knows deep inside but refuses to see because these recipes are a bit too demanding... Wishing you the best of luck on your way!

Thank you Fabienne for sharing your thoughts, which we all can do more often, as I do not believe that by ourselves, but togheter may come across something better.

It would be interesting to find out if this "better" is a social imposed goal, or it is the inner need of human race to go beyond limits. And on the other hand, those limits are also brought by humans.

Wish you all the best during holidays !
