You can say that Apple’s new launch, MacBook Air is adding as much to the brand as anything from iPod to iPhone. It’s simple, yet sophisticated, clever, innovative and great as a personal statement.
Good things about it:
- No compromise: 13in screen and equipped with a full size keyboards;
- It’s highest point is 4.3cm (1.7in);
- It weights 1.36 kg;
- Intel Core Duo processor/ 2Gb memory/80Gb;
Now, things cannot always be perfect. Apple says it’s a laptop for the wireless world. Therefore, it has no CD drive. They say you can wireless download anything you want, use their Time Capsule Service for backing up your files and if you really need to install any software, you have to have a PC/Mac around to use their optical driver through another wireless connection.
More pitfalls include only one USB port and no Ethernet port, which means you can’t plug your internet connection to the laptop ever. You can only rely on the wireless networks that are not so great everywhere. This automatically restrains your activity area and I don’t like that at all. Moreover, the lack of CD drive will get you even more dependant on Apple products and services.
So, with MacBook Air they offer you wireless access to the world, but through their gateway only.
P.S. I like their new commercial though, very nice choice of music.
