A relationship is all about companionship, it's a shared connection. A relationship is 2 people taking, borrowing something from eachother and giving back. A mutual exchange of thoughts, dreams, desires and hopes.
How can you feel alone then?
Well, it's easy. When there's no sharing and no communication happening, the connection is not there. Exchanges between 2 strangers are fragile things.
Relationships need to be nurtured and taken care of. They require intent, actual execution and effort put in.
Sharing doesn't happen by itself. And you know you're alone when you realise that there's nobody who cares about where you are, what you are doing, how you are and where do they fit in, where does the relationship fit in.
When there's no expression of interest, the presumed relationship only exists on paper, as a checkbox exercise.
A relationship requires time spent together to get to know eachother, it requires sharing experiences and stories of ... Well... Time spent together. It's built upon the intent to find out about the other and how to enhance their life, what to bring into the relationship so that you are both better off for being together. Cause, otherwise, what is the point of having the relationship in the first place?
