The 24h date

Saturday, 7:25 pm. You're getting ready for a nice, quiet night in. In your bathrobe, on the sofa, watching some crap telly. You are also on your phone.

(Background: One of the things on your dating profile you mention that you are more of a people person and instead of long e-mails, you would always rather meet people in person)

You say "Hello" to a guy.

7:33 he replies: "You had me at hello :) Short e-mail - drinks tonight? x"

15 min later, we have set up to meet at 9pm, somewhere convenient for both of us, exchanged names, like real names and phone numbers.

9pm - Waterloo. Practically blind date. Tall, good-looking guy. A good start. He's got a funny accent. British but grew up in South Africa till 21.

The date was just so great, natural, fun, easy-going, relaxing and not at all playing to rules: Got drunk, held my hand, listened to Jazz, talked statistics,  came back at mine's, went to sleep, woke up and decided to spend the day where he lives, walk around town in the sun, get coffee/tea, eat shortbread, walk in the park, see deer, kiss with an amazing view and, most of all... feel normal with a guy I just met less than 24 before. Normal, as in no awkward moments, no too much or too less of anything. Holding my hand and being gentle, taking care of me.

Instead of going home the morning after, he invited me to spend the day with him in Richmond, where he lives. Despite the fact that you would normally not spend so much time with a stranger, I liked the randomness of it.

I left towards at 7:05pm on Sunday. The best date I've ever had.
